Industry Academia Initiative

Precision Camshafts Limited believes in working along with academic institutions in India (mainly Solapur) to bring a sharp focus towards engineering and to bridge the existing Industry-Academia gap that currently exists. It is our endeavor to give the students of Solapur a real time experience in understanding the processes of a manufacturing company. PCL has entered into an Memorandum Of Understanding with 40 colleges across India. Some of the marquee institutes include Walchand Institute of Technology (Solapur), Bharat Ratna Indira Gandhi College of Engineering, and Hirachand Nemchand College of MBA amongst many others.

We are working with the Institutes in the following areas:

• Providing visiting faculties for guest lectures

The Leadership teams, along with experts from various functions, spend a minimum of one man day per week in the development of students by sharing up to date industry know-how and mentoring and coaching students to help achieve their future goals.

• Industry Visits

The industry visits of students to the PCL facility was initiated in the year 2005. Since then over 7,500 students have visited the three facilities of PCL at Solapur. The visits consist of and introduction to the company, a visit to see the production processes, and interactions with the top management

• Speaker Placements

Leaders of PCL commit a substantial amount of their time to share best industry practices, global culture and market scenarios to the upcoming generations of Solapur. Our leaders have been speakers at various academic forums across Institutes.

• Industry projects for Engineering & MBA students

Students are given the opportunity to work on live projects in the areas of HR, Performance Management Systems, Training and development, Employee Engagement. We also provide mentoring to final year engineering students for their Final Year projects. PCL has mentored and coached over 500 such projects since 2005.
