Overview of the Orbit 2013 Initiative
Orbit is our Peoples Strategy which we have launched in PCL. It is aligned to our Business Strategy. It is our endeavor to be known equally for our people practices and not just for camshafts. Through this initiative, we will work towards aligning personal vision and aspirations of our employees to the organization’s vision. We will invest in the skill development and eventually the growth of our employees. We will bring to our company the best global practices for our employees and aim at being a “Great Place to Work for”. Through this initiative our employees will get an opportunity to learn the best technology, to work on the best of projects and gain personally through self development.
What does this initiative mean to the employees?
This will create a shift in the mindset of our employees. It will help each one working in PCL become achievement-oriented. While it will help in the growth and development of our employees, on a sublime level it will also bring in recognition and a sense of achievement and pride.
What does this initiative mean to the community of Solapur?
This initiative will help in building a culture of inclusion in Solapur. It will bring to the city due recognition by putting Solapur on the world map. Enough has been written about the dark industrial history of this city; this initiative will give Solapur recognition for its manufacturing expertise and will position it for its excellent human capital. It will in turn generate employment opportunities for the people of Solapur.
What does this initiative mean to the Industry?
Growth and recognition of an organization is directly credited to the growth of an industry or a nation. India is already known for its expertise in the manufacturing of auto components. The Indian auto component industry is one of India’s sunrise industries with tremendous growth prospects. Camshafts have not been an area ventured by many companies / organizations. In all of India, there are only three players, with the majority stake being with Precision Camshafts Limited. It is a niche area and requires huge amount of expertise. Through this initiative will position the Indian Industry at power with other countries.
What does this initiative mean to the organization?
The management of PCL is very committed to this initiative. This initiative is purely for our employees and for the people of Solapur. As leaders in the industry, we would want to do our part of working towards the development of our people and our society. Entwined with our DNA of thinking big, this initiative will define PCL in the area of People Leadership.
